NIKROTHAL TE is a member of the Nikrothal family of alloys, which are one of two main types of electric-resistance alloys. Nickel-chromium (80Ni-20Cr, for example), developed around the turn of the century, was used as heating-element material in industrial furnaces and electric household appliances. Nikrothal alloys offer advantages in heating-element applications requiring very good mechanical properties in the hot state. This alloy is an attractive alternative to Nikrothal Alloys 40, 60, 70, and 80 (see Alloy Digest Ni-529, September 1997). This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on forming. Filing Code: Ni-710. Producer or source: Sandvik Heating Technology.

EASTERN STAINLESS TYPE 309S is a heat-resisting grade of stainless steel. Because of its high alloy content, it resists scaling up to 2000 F. It also has good tensile and creep properties and elevated temperatures. Type 309S has good ductility and malleability; therefore, difficult shapes and structures can be fabricated easily and it can be machined readily. It can be welded easily and gives strong, ductile welds. Some of its many applications are annealing boxes, boiler baffles, dryers, furnace parts, heat exchangers and oil-refining equipment. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-441. Producer or source: Eastern Stainless Steel Company.

KANTHAL 70 alloy was designed to provide a high positive temperature coefficient to electrical resistance comparable with that of pure nickel; however, it has much higher electrical resistivity than pure nickel. This makes it useful as a voltage regulator when placed in series with another electrical device across a fluctuating voltage source. Kanthal 70 has a maximum recommended operating temperature of 600 C and is used widely in resistance thermometers and in various appliance and automotive applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: Ni-270. Producer or source: The Kanthal Corporation.

INCOR 18 and 21 are permenent magnet materials; they are closely related to Incor 16 (Alloy Digest Co-77, June 1981). Incor 18 and 21 are important to design engineers in many fields. They can be used to design motors that are smaller, lighter and more powerful than those made with conventional magnet materials. They also can be used to improve microwave tubes, magnetic drives and couplings and electronic devices. Incor 18 and 21, like Incor 16, can be used to lower size and weight in a wide range of other products where permanent magnets are used. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on forming and machining. Filing Code: Co-78. Producer or source: Indiana General Magnet Products.
