ARMCO GAINEX Steels comprise a family of five low-cost structural carbon steels. This family includes: GAINEX-35, GAINEX-40, GAINEX-45, GAINEX-50 and GAINEX SA (Strain ageable); the numbers following GAINEX refer to minimum specified (ordered) yield strengths in 1000 psi. These steels are well suited to the automotive, farm and construction equipment, and appliance industries for such applications as truck bodies, light poles, bumper support members and parts for agricultural implements. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: CS-69. Producer or source: Armco Inc., Eastern Steel Division.

LESCALLOY D6AC VAC ARC is a high-hardenability low-alloy steel for high-strength structural applications requiring tensile strengths up to 280,000 psi. It provides a high ratio of yield strength to tensile strength, good ductility and excellent notch toughness with a tough, fibrous fracture as low as 210 F in impact tests. It is produced by the vacuum consumable electrode melting process to provide optimum cleanliness and preferred ingot structure. Its uses include fasteners, shafting and aircraft components. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-335. Producer or source: Latrobe Steel Company.

YS-T 50 to YS-T 140 Steels comprise a series of high-strength, cold-rolled steels designed to meet performance and weight-saving objectives. They are an extension of Youngstown's series of hot-rolled high-strength steels (see Youngstown YS-T Steel, Alloy Digest SA-261, March 1971). The YS-T 50 to YS-T 140 steels have minimum yield strengths ranging from 50,000 psi to 140,000 psi. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and bend strength. It also includes information on heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-331. Producer or source: Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company.

Alloy Steel 1.8 Cu-1.0 Mn-1.2 Si is a low-carbon (0.20% max.) cast steel designed to provide intermediate tensile and yield strength. Copper lowers the ductility and toughness of cast steel but, for a given increase in tensile strength, the loss of ductility and toughness is less if copper is added than if carbon is increased. This steel has many uses such as booms, long shafting and gears. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-325. Producer or source: Alloy steel mills and foundries.

MAXI-FORM 80 is a high-strength low-alloy steel that provides superior ductility, good fatigue resistance, good weldability and outstanding impact toughness even at temperatures down to -40 F and below. It has a yield strength of 80,000 psi along with the high formability that complex parts require. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on low temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SA-312. Producer or source: Republic Steel Corporation.

CRUCIBLE VERSASTEEL is a type of tool steel with its composition carefully balanced to provide an unusual combination of fine grain structure, high secondary hardness and compressive yield strength, good toughness and exceptional wear resistance. Its resistance to tempering approaches that of high-speed steels. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: TS-256. Producer or source: Crucible Specialty Metals Division, Colt Industries.
