BELMONT ALLOY 18912 is an aluminum casting alloy containing 0.8% magnesium and relatively high copper and nickel along with its 6.5% tin. The composition makes the alloy suitable for bearing applications requiring operation at relatively high temperatures and with good resistance to thermal stresses. Sand and permanent-mold castings comprise its main use. It is particularly well suited for shock or impact loads. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: Al-230. Producer or source: Belmont Metals Inc..

ALUMINUM 413.0 is normally classified as a die-casting alloy; however, it also can be used for sand and permanent-mold castings. Its high silicon content (12%) lowers its melting temperature and increases its fluidity, thus improving its castability. It is used for intricate thin-walled castings requiring pressure tightness, toughness and good resistance to corrosion. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-231. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies.

UHB IMPAX P20 is a chromium-nickel-molybdenum tool steel for molds. It is supplied in the prehardened condition, so that the mold cavity can be machined and the mold placed directly in service. It is used for molds for plastics and die-casting molds for zinc, lead and tin alloys. (See update, IMPAX SUPREME, Alloy Digest TS-497, March 1989.) This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: TS-326. Producer or source: Uddeholm Aktiebolag.

POTOMAC M is a chromium-molybdenum-vanadium hot-work tool steel developed as a die material for aluminum-base die casting. Its superiority in pressure die casting is due to its excellent mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, its excellent machinability and its freedom from scaling and distortion during heat treatment. Its well-balanced high-temperature mechanical properties make it useful for many other applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-318. Producer or source: AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation.

FEDERATED F4110 is a general-purpose alloy for making intricate die castings. It is also used for thin-walled, complicated permanent-mold castings where maximum fluidity, pressure tightness and resistance to hot cracking are required. It has excellent castability and foundry characteristics, fair machinability and good strength. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-226. Producer or source: Federated Metals Corporation, ASARCO Inc..
