Tantalum finds its largest use in the electronics industry, where it is used in filaments, filament supports, and capacitors. Metallurgical grade tantalum is used extensively in chemical process equipment. Tantalum resists corrosion by body fluids and is used in prosthetic devices. Its high melting point gives it utility in vacuum furnace components. It is also used as an alloying element in superalloys. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Ta-11. Producer or source: Cabot Corporation.

TANTALOY 60 Metal is a vacuum-melted, solid-solution alloy of tantalum and tungsten. It retains useful strength up to 4500 F. Its corrosion resistance is similar to unalloyed tantalum and it is only slightly more difficult to fabricate. If high-temperature exposure is under conditions other than vacuum or inert atmosphere, coating protection may be required. The alloy is used in highly specialized and sophisticated aerospace system applications and in special chemical process. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Ta-9. Producer or source: Fansteel Metallurgical Corporation.

TANTALOY 61 METAL is a tantalum-tungsten alloy of high density. It was developed for use as a spring material or for other elastic parts which must operate under chlorinating or severe acid conditions. Its combination of mechanical and anti-corrosion properties has led to extensive use for chlorinator valve springs. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Ta-6. Producer or source: Fansteel Metallurgical Corporation.

TANTALOY 63 Metal is a tantalum-base alloy containing typically 2.5% tungsten and 0.15% columbium. It is melted in an electron-beam furance. Its strength is considerably greater than that of unalloyed tantalum. For a wide range of chemicals at elevated temperatures, its corrosion resistance is comparable to or better than that of pure tantalum. Typical appalications are heaters, condensers and multi-tube heat exchangers. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Ta-5. Producer or source: Fansteel Metallurgical Corporation.
