Mueller Brass C48500, also known as leaded naval brass, is a wrought copper-zinc-lead-tin alloy. It is a high-zinc brass to which a small amount of tin is added to improve its corrosion resistance and also to impart higher strength. Tin, like arsenic, antimony, and phosphorus, reduces susceptibility to dezincification. Mueller Brass C48500 possesses good hot formability and is fairly well adapted to any hot working process including forging. Due to its lead content, the alloy has poor cold forming characteristics. Due to this limitation, this alloy is best suited for machining applications rather than typical cold working operations. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-936. Producer or source: Mueller Brass Company.

Austral Wright Copper Alloy 220 (UNS C22000), also known as 90/10 gilding metal, is a wrought copper-zinc alloy. It combines a rich golden color with the best combination of strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance of the plain copper-zinc alloys. It weathers to a rich bronze color and can be supplied in pre-patinated colors ranging from deep brown to green. Austral Wright Copper Alloy 220 has a lower rate of work hardening than the copper-zinc alloys with higher zinc content, such as alloys 260 and 272. This is an advantage in multistage pressing applications without interstage annealing. It has excellent deep drawing characteristics and resistance to pitting corrosion when exposed to severe weather and water environments. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-935. Producer or source: Austral Wright Metals.

Austral Wright 5% Phosphor Bronze (UNS C51800) is a wrought copper-tin-phosphorus alloy. It is the most widely used grade of wrought phosphor bronze. It is harder, stronger and stiffer than the wrought brasses and, in strip and wire form, is produced with a combination of excellent cold formability, high strength and good corrosion resistance, which makes it ideal for use as springs. It also has a low coefficient of friction against steel. This makes it a popular choice for wear resistant guide strips and similar bearing applications involving boundary lubrication conditions. The alloy has adequate electrical and thermal properties, which helps it find applications in current-carrying and heat transfer applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating. Filing Code: Cu-929. Producer or source: Austral Wright Metals.

Wieland C24000, also known as low brass, is an 80Cu-20Zn alloy. Low brass, named for its relatively low zinc content, is a choice of many design engineers for applications where strength and formability are required. Due to its higher zinc content (compared to red brass), low brass develops a beautiful antique brass color when chemically treated, making it ideal for many decorative or architectural applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and elasticity. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting and heat treating. Filing Code: Cu-927. Producer or source: Wieland Rolled Products NA (formerly Olin Brass).

Wieland B31 (CuSn2Fe0.1P) is a copper-tin-iron-phosphorus alloy (tin bronze) with coherent precipitates. The lower tin content with small amounts of iron and phosphorus results in an electrical conductivity of at least 30% IACS. Precipitates of iron and phosphorus stabilize the structure, increase the strength, and improve the softening characteristics. Wieland B31 possesses the right combination of formability, conductivity, strength, and stress relaxation resistance to be used for automotive applications at relatively high ambient temperatures. In addition, its strength is similar to that of a 4% tin bronze. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming and heat treating. Filing Code: Cu-926. Producer or source: Wieland-Werke AG.
