CarTech A6, also known as CarTech Vega, is an air-hardening, high-carbon (0.70%), Mn-Cr-Mo, alloy cold-work tool steel. It combines the deep-hardening and minimum size change characteristics of air-hardening tool steels with the simplicity of low-temperature heat treatment possible in many oil-hardening tool steels. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-803. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.

ATMODIE is a high-carbon, high-chromium, air-hardening tool steel. It has a unique combination of hardness, toughness and non-deforming qualities. Its hardenability is high enough to develop full hardness through large sections; this makes it outstanding as the heavy-duty die and cold-forming tool steel, excellent for blanking heavy sheet and plate. ATMODIE is particularly useful for long-run tools and dies requiring close dimensional accuracy in hardening. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-470. Producer or source: Columbia Tool Steel Company.

AISI Type A7 is an air-hardening tool and die steel designed for extremely high resistance to abrasion. Its high carbon and high vanadium contribute to its high abrasion resistance; however, it should be restricted to applications where toughness is not a prime consideration. It can be austenitized, air cooled and tempered to very high hardness (as high as Rockwell C 65). Its numerous applications include brick-mold liners, knives, liners for sand and shot blasting machines, ceramic-tile liners, punches and hand tools. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-384. Producer or source: Tool steel mills.

CARPENTER No. 610 is a high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel with extremely high wear-resisting properties. It has very high hardenability (air hardening) and will be practically free from size changes after proper treatment. Its high percentage of chromium gives it mild corrosion resistance in the hardened condition. Typical applications include various types of dies, slitting cutters, heading tools and intricate punches. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and hardness as well as deformation. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-358. Producer or source: Carpenter.

VASCO TUF is an air-hardening die steel ideally suited for cold-work applications requiring good toughness. It has better wear resistance than the shock-resisting tool steels. It achieves a maximum hardness of Rockwell C 58-60 when multiple tempered at 950 F: this means that it can also be used for warm-working applications without losing hardness. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-274. Producer or source: Teledyne Vasco.
