Böhler L022 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy that exhibits very good corrosion resistance, for example, outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking. It has excellent resistance to oxidizing aqueous media including wet chlorine and mixtures containing nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chloride ions. VDM 625 (Nicrofer 6020 hMo) is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy with excellent resistance to a variety of corrosive media. In the soft annealed condition (grade 1), the alloy is used for wet corrosion applications and is approved by TÜV for pressure vessels in a temperature range from –196 to 450 °C (–320 to 840 °F). For high temperature applications above 600 °C (1110 °F), the solution annealed variant (grade 2) is generally used. Nistelle Super C is a nickel-base powder metallurgy alloy designed for corrosion resistance and developed for coating and overlaying purposes. The composition of Nistelle Super C, Ni-23Cr-18Mo, is similar to that of the traditional Nistelle alloy, which is Ni-16Cr-16Mo-4.5W, but the higher chromium and molybdenum provide superior corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing corrosive media.
