Abstract
SAE 1070 is a high-carbon water or oil-hardening tool and spring steel of low hardenability. It is used for railroad and street railway rails, heavy machinery parts, shafts, springs and a wide variety of hand and machine tools requiring strength and wear resistance. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness.
