Abstract

Corsair is balanced with a chemistry intermediate to Double Six (M2 type steel) and Crusader (M3-2 type steel). (See Double Six M-2, Alloy Digest TS-459, June 1986, and Crusader Type M3-2, Alloy Digest TS-485, November 1987.) Corsair has applications when both improved tool life and grindability are needed. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity as well as fracture toughness.
