Abstract

CRUCIBLE XM 19 Stainless is a nitrogen-strengthened, low-carbon austenitic stainless steel that provides good corrosion resistance in combination with high strength. The alloy has better corrosion resistance than AISI Type 316 with approximately twice the yield strength. It can be welded, machined and cold worked using the same equipment and methods used for the conventional AISI 300 series stainless steels. It is nonmagnetic as annealed and after severe cold work. Its many uses include cables, fasteners, pumps, valves, marine hardware and springs. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on low temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-414.
