Abstract

Type CD-4MCu is an iron-chromium-nickel-copper-molybdenum alloy having corrosion resistance in many media superior to that of ACI Types CF-8 and CF-8M cast stainless steels; in addition, Type CD-4MCu has about double the yield strength of the other two alloys. Type CD-4MCu combines good ductility with high hardness and has excellent resistance to abrasion, erosion, and stress-corrosion cracking. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: SS-386. Producer or source: Stainless steel foundries.
