Abstract

NITRONIC 32 is basically a low-nickel chromium-manganese austenitic stainless steel strengthened by an addition of nitrogen. It has annealed strength approximately two times that of AISI Type 304 stainless steel and comparable corrosion resistance. It is used in such applications as fasteners, springs, antennae, shafting and pole-line hardware. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-320. Producer or source: Armco Steel Corporation, Advanced Materials Division.
