Abstract

AISI 4815 is a low-carbon, nickel-molybdenum carburizing steel. It is recommended for applications requiring a strong, tough core combined with a highly wear-resistant carburized case. It also offers a good combination of strength and low-temperature toughness for non-carburizing applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on low temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SA-259. Producer or source: Alloy steel mills and foundries.
