Abstract

MUELLER Alloy 2300 is an alpha brass containing 15% zinc. It has good physical and mechanical properties, excellent cold-working characteristics and a pleasing red color. Its low zinc content makes it resistant to dezincification and it is more resistant to stress-corrosion cracking than brasses with higher zinc contents. Typical uses are plumbing pipe and condenser and heat-exchanger tubes. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-424. Producer or source: Mueller Brass Company.
