Abstract

Copper Alloy No. C85400 is a copper-zinc-lead-tin alloy for casting. It is a free-machining alloy characterized by its good machining and polishing characteristics, its pleasing yellow color, and its relatively low cost. It is an alloy with low-to-moderate strength and it is used in a number of light-duty applications such as andirons, furniture hardware, valves and ship trimmings. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive strength. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-405. Producer or source: Copper alloy foundries.
