Abstract

Copper Alloy No. 845 was formerly identified as 78-3-7-12 alloy or 78 Semi-Red Brass. It is a free-cutting copper-tin-lead-zinc alloy and is characterized by good casting properties, moderate strength and ductility, excellent machinability and good corrosion resistance. Among its many uses are low-pressure valve fittings, plumbing fixtures and general hardware fittings. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-378. Producer or source: Copper alloy foundries.
