Abstract

OSTALLOY 117 is a eutectic, controlled-shrinkage alloy that melts at 117 F. It provides the engineer, scientist and technician with easily castable material that is ready for use soon after it freezes. It can be recovered easily and recycled into new uses any number of times. Its low melting temperature and controlled-shrinkage characteristics make it highly useful for such applications as low-temperature solder, proof casting of cavities and dental models. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on casting, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: Bi-16. Producer or source: Arconium Corporation of America, A.J Oster Company.
