Abstract

Kaiser Aluminum alloy 2011 is one of the most popular screw machine stock alloys available. Tennalum, a division of Kaiser Aluminum, produces alloy 2011 in the T3 temper as Microchip II, which offers excellent machinability and surface finish. The chips from Tennalum’s Microchip II (T3 temper only) are known for being small in size. Alloy 2011 is typically used in connectors and fittings, brake pistons, computer parts, knobs, and meter shafts. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: AL-352. Producer or source: Kaiser Aluminum Corporation.
