Abstract

ALUMINUM 6061 is a wrought precipitation-hardenable aluminum alloy having excellent resistance to corrosion and good mechanical properties. (This alloy is covered under its old designation, ALUMINUM 61S, in Alloy Digest Al-3, November 1952.) This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-205. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies.
