Abstract

ALUMINUM 5457 is an aluminum sheet alloy that offers a lustrous, mirror-like appearance when polished, brightened and anodized. The brightness of the specially treated sheet makes it particularly desirable for decorative trim applications in the appliance and automotive industries. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-121. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies. Originally published December 1962, revised April 1978.
