Cleveland-Cliffs 18 SR is a ferritic stainless steel that is especially valuable for applications requiring high-temperature scaling resistance. Its properties, under cyclic conditions, are superior to those of types 409, 430, 304, 309, and 310 stainless steels. In addition, it is more economical than many of the stainless steels that are intended for high temperature applications. Unlike many of the straight chromium alloys, Cleveland-Cliffs 18 SR is readily welded by conventional methods. It is not subject to troublesome embrittlement or loss of corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zone. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on low temperature performance, high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming and joining. Filing Code: SS-1367. Producer or source: Cleveland-Cliffs Inc.
