1033 is a wrought medium-carbon (carbon = 0.30–0.36%) non-alloy steel that is used in the normalized, cold worked, or quenched and tempered condition. 1033 may also be flame or induction hardened, nitrided, or nitrocarburized. This steel is widely used for small, oderately stressed parts that require higher strength levels than can be achieved by the lower carbon grades, and also for applications where a combination of moderate strength and good toughness is required. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and hardness. It also includes information on forming and heat treating. Filing Code: CS-253.
