CarTech 316/316L is a chromium-nickel-molybdenum austenitic stainless steel. It is a low-carbon version of the conventional CarTech 316. In this low-carbon austenitic stainless steel, control of carbon to 0.03 % has been shown to minimize carbide precipitation during welding. CarTech 316/316L can be used in the as-welded conditions in a variety of corrosive applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-1353. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.
