Abstract

Timetal 407 (Ti407) is a wrought, heat-treatable, alpha–beta, Ti-V-Al-Si-Fe alloy that excels in applications requiring resistance to impact, explosive blast, and/or other forms of shock loading. Its properties are generally similar to those of Ti-6Al-4V or Ti-3Al- 2.5V; however, in comparison, Timetal 407 can provide considerable cost savings by being significantly easier to process and machine. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: Ti-176. Producer or source: TIMET.
