Abstract
In the late 1990s boilers were designed for higher temperatures and pressures than those in the past and required steels with high-temperature strength that is greater than that of conventional 18-8 austenitic stainless steels. A heat-resisting steel (0.1C-18Cr-10Ni-3Cu-Ti-Nb) was developed with a creep rupture strength at 600-700 deg C (1110-1290 deg F) that is 30% higher than that of AISI TP347H. This steel tube, called TEMPALOY AA-1, is expected to be a candidate material for ultra-supercritical boilers. This datasheet provides information on composition and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming and joining. Filing Code: SS-934. Producer or source: Tenaris NKKTubes.
