Abstract

NIROSTA 4120 (Modified Type 420), is a ferritic/martensitic grade of stainless steel that is heat treatable with wear and corrosion resistance. The corrosion resistance is due to the addition of molybdenum over the standard type 420 compositions. NIROSTA 4120 is predominately used in the quenched and drawn condition. Typical applications are in blades and knives for all types of cutting. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-928. Producer or source: Krupp Thyssen Nirosta North America Inc.
