Abstract
ALLEGHENY LUDLUM 316 and 316L are acid resistant, molybdenum type 18-8 stainless steels. Type 316L is the low carbon grade of Type 316 offering decreased carbide precipitation. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness, creep, and fatigue. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-48. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.
