Allegheny Ludlum Type 416 stainless steel is a free-machining martensitic stainless steel, which can be hardened by heat treatment to higher strengths. It has better machining properties than the austenitic grades but lower corrosion resistance. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and tensile properties.
