Boehler W302 VMR is a hot tool steel that is manufactured and certified to meet an average impact toughness of 20 J (15 ft·lbf) minimum in Charpy V-notch testing. This die steel achieves that toughness by vacuum melting and remelting. Applications include dies, die holders, liners, and stems. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as heat treating.
