Avesta Sheffield Type 317L is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless containing low carbon (0.03% max) and an addition of molybdenum (3.00-4.00%). This steel was developed primarily to more effectively resist the attack by strongly corrosive process environments, including those containing chlorides and other halides. Its proven ability to resist corrosion has broadened its use considerably, and it now has many industrial applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-726. Producer or source: Avesta Sheffield AB.
