Abstract
UGIMA 4301 (formerly known as UGIMA 304) is an austenitic stainless steel produced by special steelmaking techniques that produce a steel with inclusions of malleable oxides, which have a low melting point and a controlled composition. The presence of the inclusions lubricates the metal-tool interface during high-speed cutting. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-718. Producer or source: Ugine-Savoie.
