Kaiser Aluminum alloy 2014 is one of the strongest heat-treatable alloys for screw machine applications. The alloy has good machinability and high strength. Corrosion resistance is only fair. Weldability is good with arc and resistance methods. In many applications, this alloy can be substituted for 2024. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fatigue.
