Abstract
CLI-50A is a Korean 6 Mo superaustenitic stainless steel with improved corrosion resistance properties. The chromium additions have been increased up to 22% together with high nitrogen additions. The PREN value [%Cr] + 3.3 [%Mo] + 16[%N] is higher than 45. The alloy is copper free. This alloy is particularly well designed for seawater applications and pollution control equipment. The chemistry is balanced to obtain an austenitic microstructure that explains the high toughness properties, including those at -196deg C (-320 deg F). This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-660. Producer or source: Cruesot-Loire Industrie.
