Abstract

CARPENTER STAINLESS TYPE 430 is a chromium stainless steel that is especially useful for all types of decorative trim. This steel is suitable for trim on automobiles, cameras, vending machines, counters and showcases, electrical appliances and finished hardware in the building trade. The alloy also has many applications in both the petrochemical and chemical area. Type 430 has moderate strength and good ductility. It can be cold worked readily for producing trim and can be joined successfully by several methods. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness, and deformation. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-384. Producer or source: Carpenter.
