Abstract
Iridium is used for alloying with precious metals primarily to increase their strength, hardness and corrosion resistance. Of the many alloy combinations, the most popular and widely used are those containing platinum and iridium, in particular those alloys containing up to 30% iridium. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming. Filing Code: PT-5. Producer or source: Engelhard Corporation.
