CARPENTER MICRO-MELT M-42 alloy is a super-high-speed tool steel produced by powder metallurgy. This production technique results in a more uniform structure, greater ease of grinding, improved wear resistance and toughness than is characteristic of conventionally produced high-speed tool steels. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming and heat treating.
