Abstract
ZAMAK-5 has moderately greater hardness, strength and creep resistance than the most widely used general purpose zinc die casting alloy, ZAMAK 3 (See Alloy Digest Zn-1, September 1991). This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive and shear strength as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Zn-2. Producer or source: Noranda Sales Corporation. Originally published as Zamak-5, May 1954, revised February 1992.
