Carpenter Silicon Core Iron "B" is melted in electric arc furnaces to exacting chemical specifications, and carefully controlled in rolling and annealing practices to produce a fine grained uniform quality magnetic core alloy. Silicon Core Iron "B" is not recommended for components which must be cold formed due to its high silicon content. This alloy was covered with 4 other silicon core irons in Fe-36, November, 1968. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on heat treating and machining. Filing Code: Fe-90. Producer or source: Carpenter.
