UNS S35000 is a transformation and precipitation hardening stainless steel. It is austenitic in the annealed(H) condition with formability and weldability comparable to AISI 300 Type stainless steels. After fabrication, appropriate heat treatments are employed to harden the alloy to high strengths comparable to the hardenable AISI 400 Type stainless steels. The alloy is designed primarily for light sections. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, tensile properties, and compressive, shear, and bearing strength as well as creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-517. Producer or source: Stainless steel mills.
