JESSOP TYPE 316L is an extra low carbon variation of Jessop TYPE 316 (See Alloy Digest SS-488, August 1987). It is formulated for resistance to intergranular corrosion in welded or stress relieved structures. JESSOP TYPE 316LM is a more highly alloyed modification of 316L (higher molybdenum and nickel contents) with enhanced pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-509. Producer or source: Jessop Steel Company.
