AL TECH ARAPAHO is an air-hardening or oil-hardening tool steel depending on the size, tool geometry and other desired propties. It has exceptional toughness coupled with resistance to softening at moderately high temperatures. It is used for general blanking and forming-die applications; it also is used for impact and shock-resisting tools. Its many uses include shear blades, chisels, punches, rivet sets and mold dies for plastics. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, hardness, and elasticity as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on heat treating and machining. Filing Code: TS-475. Producer or source: AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation.
