CASCADE is a precipitation-hardening steel which is very popular as a mold steel for injection molding of thermoplastics. It is also an excellent choice for many zinc die-casting dies because of its resistance to heat checking and wash. A further wide usage for Cascade is as a holding-block material for die-casting dies and molds for plastics when high strength is mandatory. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment.
