Abstract

Bismuth-22.6Pb-19.1In-8.3Sn-5.3Cd is a eutectic, controlled-shrinkage alloy that has a melting point of 117 F (47 C). It provides the engineer, scientist and technician with easily castable material that is ready for use soon after it freezes. This alloy can be recycled into new uses any number of times. Its many uses include fusible elements in safety devices, model railroading, low-temperature solder and proof casting. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on casting, forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Bi-36. Producer or source: Producers of low-melting alloys.
