Abstract

AL TECH NAVAHO is an air-hardening punch and die steel with lower carbon than most cold-work steels; this provides an optimum combination of wear resistance and toughness for difficult cold-work applications. It also is used for abrasive hot-work requirements. This steel offers relatively favorable size stability and exceptional secondary hardness characteristics. NAVAHO has a broad application range from shear blades and punches to molds for plastics ad hot-work tooling. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-421. Producer or source: AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation.
