AMBRALOY 687 is a copper-zinc-aluminum-arsenic alloy. It is effectively inhibited against dezincification by the small but strictly regulated addition of arsenic (nominally 0.04%). It is superior to Admiralty Metal (Copper Alloys No. C44300, C44400 and C44500) where water is contaminated by sewage, where velocities are higher than normal, and where impingement is more severe than normal. Typical uses are condenser and heat-exchanger tubes, distiller tubes and ferrules. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-459. Producer or source: ARCO Metals Company, American Brass.
