Abstract

LESCALLOY U1-18 is a medium-carbon, low-alloy heat-resistant steel having high strength to 1000 F (538 C). It is made by vacuum-consumable-electrode melting to provide a preferred ingot solidification and superior microcleanliness. It is used for turbine and compressor rotor shafts. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SA-395. Producer or source: Latrobe Steel Company.
