GUTERL T-1 is a general-purpose high-speed steel that is suitable for practically all high-speed applications. It is relatively easy to fabricate. This steel has been the standard of the industry for many years because of its excellent combination of cutting ability and toughness, ease of heat treatment and minimum tendency to decarburize. Its many uses include drills, taps, broaches, hobs, lathe and planer tools, milling cutters and wood-working tools. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment.
