Abstract
AMPCO D-4 is a copper-aluminum-iron-nickel alloy characterized by high hardness and strength, high toughness, good resistance to fatigue and wear, and excellent resistance to corrosion. Its as-cast mechanical properties can be improved by heat treating; in the heat-treated condition it is designated Ampco D-4HT. It is suited for service up to 750 F. Typical applications include aerospace components, marine hardware, valve seats, glands and stuffing box nuts. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties.
