Abstract

ZIRCADYNE 704 is a zirconium-tin-iron-chromium alloy. Zircadyne 704 can contain up to 4.5% hafnium which is naturally present in the zirconium ore. The hafnium is very similar to zirconium metallurgically and chemically and is not detrimental to the corrosion resistance of Zircadyne 704 in chemical applications. Zircadyne 704 is used for high-pressure, high-temperature water and steam environments such as those in the nuclear power industry. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Zr-9.
