INDALLOY 117 is a bismuth-base, eutectic alloy that has a melting point of 117 F (47 C). Because of its low melting temperature and controlled-shrinkage characteristics, it is used widely in industry. The alloy can be recovered easily and recycled into new uses any number of times. Its many uses include low-temperature solder, proof casting, fusible elements in safety devices and model railroading. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on casting, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: Bi-26. Producer or source: Indium Corporation of America.
